What is an Air Exchanger?
An air exchanger improves indoor air quality by regularly exchanging and filtering the outdoor and indoor air. With older homes, outdoor air replaces the indoor air every 30 to 40 minutes. In tightly constructed homes however, it can take up to ten hours for air exchange to take place. By investing in an air exchanger, you can help reduce the levels of airborne chemicals, gases, and particles. Gases can come from older gas-burning appliances that can leak and produce carbon dioxide and monoxide from incomplete combustion. Particles that are in the air like pet dander and dust can contribute to poor indoor air quality. It can also cause health issues like asthma, allergies, or any other respiratory alignments if it is severe enough.
